ABOUT

Indy Juneteenth is a nonprofit organization started by James and Twjonia Webb whose mission is to improve the quality and narrative of life around the black community in the Indianapolis area by creating avenues for celebration and economic growth through unique events and programs designed to celebrate and educate regarding the Juneteenth holiday and other under-served Black American holidays. We provide a platform from which local black businesses can benefit from their own community; to educational opportunities in Black History.

JUNETEENTH HISTORY

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, TX with news that the war ended and that the enslaved were now free. America's true Independence Day. And even though African Americans still fight for equality and justice today, we use Juneteenth as a benchmark to remind us of our ancestors and that freedom for all is a God given right to all human beings.

VENDORS & SPONSORS

Indy Juneteenth takes pride in supporting local businesses. Whether through fundraising or participating in events, Indy Juneteenth provides a platform that local businesses can benefit from as vendors. To be a vendor please follow the link below and submit a form.

Also, Indy Juneteenth is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization. We are allowed to accept donations as tax-deductible. The only way we survive is through charitable donations and sponsorships. In order to keep this event alive, as well as the charitable work we do in the community, we need the help from sponsors. Indy Juneteenth is looking for corporate sponsors. If you or your company is interested in being one of this year's sponsors, please follow the sponsors link below and submit the form.
